With rare exception, the fuel and ignition systems on most classic cars haven’t been used by car manufacturers for some forty years. The best of today’s general automotive service shops are skilled with the computerized electronics systems of modern cars. Their best mechanics can diagnose and repair complex systems from engine management to electronic stability control. But unless those mechanics are nearing retirement age, they may have little to no experience with older cars. Our experience lies in these older cars. We service them every day. We keep common parts on hand that a shop working on modern cars might not even know where to source. This isn’t knocking a good shop that works on current model automobiles. We can’t do some of the things they can. We do have modern computerized diagnostics and testing equipment but our everyday work is old cars. We think it’s just common sense that a skilled technician who does something every day is going to be more efficient than a similarly skilled technician who does it infrequently. That’s why it makes sense to trust your classic to us.
